Auguste is a photographer and a filmmaker living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

She was born in Lithuania, colloquially known as the land of rain. At the age of 18 she moved to the UAE to pursue a B.A. in Film and New Media at New York University Abu Dhabi. Since then she has deepened her passion for visual media, non-linear forms of tale telling, and visceral imagery.

Her unwavering interest in Interpersonal Violence (IPV) has led to projects on emotional abuse in romantic relationships, domestic violence, and other emotionally sticky themes. Auguste utilizes visual mediums to capture psychologically complicated situations which are difficult to put into words, and thus are often overlooked by the legal system.

Auguste’s undergraduate thesis project Through Thin Ice explores the conflict between attraction and violence in unhealthy relationships. It also reflects on the representation of emotional abuse(rs) in cinema throughout history.

Other work she has produced focuses on the female gaze, ecology, and those who are deemed outsiders - migrants, expats, and positionally minored people.
